2000 Lincoln Navigator
For 2000, the Lincoln Navigator features a new satellite navigation system, a
reverse sensing system, and climate-controlled front seats with a small fan and
heat pump to circulate air. Lincoln Navigator is available with two-wheel drive
($42,460) or four-wheel drive ($46,210). A 5.4-liter four-valve twin-cam V8 engine
rated at 300 horsepower powers the 2K Navigator. It comes standard with a four-speed
electronically controlled automatic overdrive transmission.

The 4x4 Navigator comes with an advanced four-wheel-drive system that offers
a low-range set of gears, as well as Ford's Control Trac system. Front side airbags
were installed this year as standard equipment. So did Ford's Reverse Sensing
System, which used rear-bumper sensors to provide an audible warning as the vehicle
approached an obstacle while backing up. Door mirrors were revised, with built-in
turn indicators and an available power-fold mechanism. Previously optional, 17-inch
wheels became standard. Interiors sported additional wood trim, softer leather
upholstery, a redesigned center console with more cup holders, and child-seat
anchors for the second and third rows. An automatic parking-brake release, front-seat
power lumbar adjustment and a Homelink universal transmitter became standard.
