Lincoln Navigator Grille
The opening at the front of the Navigator that allows air into the radiator to
help cool the engine is the grille. Most grilles come with a metal or plastic
insert that adds a design touch to the front end. Navigator's grille emphasizes
mass and a kind of beefy elegance, yet it is unmistakably a member of the Lincoln
family. Some grilles is designed for quick and easy bolt-on installation, but
at the same time gives your vehicle a customized look. The original Billet insert
is exactly that - an insert.

The factory plastic grille is then modified and inserted into the factory grille
opening, usually from behind. In front of the Navigator is Lincoln's signature
grille. When talking of grilles there are different kinds. A grille insert is
made from billet aluminum that replaces the original equipment insert. It is restyling
accessory that is available for pickups, vans, SUVs and even luxury cars. Phantom
grille i replaces the painted or chrome grille shell, usually on a pickup or SUV,
and extends all the way across the front of the vehicle. Most phantom grilles
cover the headlights, but some 'half phantom' grilles leave the headlights exposed.
These are typically are made of billet aluminum. A metal or plastic insert that
mounts inside a vehicle's grille and adds a design element to the car or truck's
front end is the grille insert often made off billet aluminum, while others can
be painted body color for a more monochromatic look.
